Reservoir

So today Kirby asked us if we wanted to go on a ride to the reservoir. I said sure, because I have never seen the little one full, and I don't think I have really been up and looked around since the flood! Ya I know it was 3 years ago, but hey I really don't like driving for no reason. We went there, and of course, I am in flips flops, and my boys take after their mother (sorry Howard) so they are wearing them too! We went to the big reservoir to look at the construction. Oh did I mention it was snowing/raining. So there is mud. But we went to see it and then we went and looked at the little reservoir we wanted to walk across it, but I wasn't sure which side I wanted to hold Ky on. The side that was 40 ft. deep with water or the side that had an over 40 feet drop off! We just decided to stand by the spill way! Anyways it was fun, so here are some pics!

Here is the big reservoir dam and the construction they are doing. Pretty far down huh, I was too nervous with the kids and went back to the pick up after this shot!

Here is the proof of the spillway running over, and that we are all wearing flip flops. It was cold, and Ky was in his pajamas at 6:00 at night. Ya I know we might have a little white trash blood in us!

My Big Boy

Well, that title is right, but he has been a big boy for a long time now. Kyron was my angel potty trainer. He actually did it himself. At about 22 months old, I was getting him ready for bed and he said "pee pee" So I took him to the potty and he went, then he kept doing it! It was awesome. The reason for the title is that he wants to where Davis' underwear all the time. So I was getting ready for church the other day and I told him to go get underwear on and then get dressed. When I came to check, he was wearing these Sponge Bob boxers of Davis'. Instantly they made him look older, so I thought I would share this cute pic of him!

NOT SO SMART

So last night Karisti and I were finishing our walk around 8:45. So I came up with this GREAT idea to walk at 6:00 AM before our husbands left for work. At 5:50 my alarm goes off, and I was like what is that noise, when I roll over to see that 5:50 glowing at me in the dark, I remembered my stupid idea that I had. We met up went on a pretty good walk, ending at 6:30. We could of been a little longer, but anyways we will do better tomorrow. Anyways, so I am totally energized when I get home, and at 8:00, SLAM I have hit a wall. So right now I am posting this in between laundry loads, and cleaning, trying to keep myself from going and climbing in my nice warm soft bed! I wish that free weight loss was more instant gratification. Anyways, I just felt like whining. I know that there are plenty of you that wake up this early everyday to do the things you do. I am usually sleeping as late as my kids are.
SO I AM STRUGGLING RIGHT NOW!!!

Easter Sunday

The boys had a great Easter. The Easter bunny sent them on a egg hunt that lead into a treasure hunt. The last clue told them to go to the basement, where the prize was. I had cleaned up the mess that they made and set their Spider man tent up that they got for Christmas. They got a spiderman table and chasirs and a little people farm, they didn't really care about them, they were more happy that the Easter bunny cleaned the basement and put up their tent for them. It was pretty funny. Later that day we went to Rosie's for dinner, then we had a egg hunt there. Davis found the egg that had the SUPER GRAND PRIZE paper in it. He was so excited. So now when he wants to play with it he says "mom where is my super grand prize toy?" I actually think that he left it there, because we haven't found it yet! Here are some pictures of Easter morning!

Betty Crocker...I think not!

Well, my sister Roz posted a really yummy sounding recipe on her blog. (http://www.drewandroz.blogspot.com/) I thought that I would make it on Sunday, BTW if you decide to make it just get the coconut cake mix from Walmart much easier and I think it has more flavor anyways, so Karisti makes it in a sheet cake, easy the smart way. (unless you are BC or my sister). I can cook, because I just dump ingredients in I forget to follow the actually instructions, but you can't do that with baking. So here is was it looked like after my first attempt with 3 cakes.

Even Davis thinks it is a failure

So after some help from my husband that can bake, I should have taken some pictures of the bread he made. This is how it turned out!

I think that I will leave the fancy 3 layered stuff to my sister, and the rest of you that are patient enough to follow directions.

Nightmare, to say the least!

Well, Karisti and I decided that on Saturday night we would get together, eat dinner and dye Easter eggs! Well, me being a mom of a 4 and almost 3 year old forgot all the things that you have to remember when you have a curious 20 month old! Well, The kids were playing downstairs and Karisti and I were upstairs finishing up preparing dinner. Jed and Kirby come inside with the steaks and Jed walks around the corner and we hear this! "Holy crap! what the heck is on Brayden's hands!" (I censored certain words!) So my first thought is blood, but no one was screaming. then I see it! I had left the storage room door open, and Curious George somehow found an can of black paint! (Exterior paint weather resistant) put his hands in it and I think decided that he didn't like it anymore! So he came upstairs to get help. At this point he has to walk past all 3 boys I might add, (of course they see nothing) and come up the stairs where Jed's sees him. As I was frantically trying to clean the carpet the thought popped into my head to grab my camera, then it flashed out quickly, because I mean whats more important, blogging or saving the carpet! So I added some black spots to the pictures that I took of the stairs today to show you what it looked like when we started!

The bigger black spots are where he had to put his had on the stairs to climb up, but I got a little dramatic with the other dots, they weren't that big. They were drops of paint as he climbed up the stairs. So Karisti ran with Brayden to the boys bathroom and got him cleaned up and Jed and I started wiping up. Kirby, let's just say chicken with his head cut off! He handles emergencies very well, when they don't occur in his personal space. So I am yelling orders (imagine that) I told Kirby to call his dad and get the carpet cleaning machine from the Store, except Howard is in the shower suds and all, so he hurrys and jumps out. In the mean time I have found what I am going to say is a miracle product!!!

Some people might think I am crazy, but that little bottle took the majority of it up before Kirby even got back. So when he arrived, it looked great. I used the machine and you can't even tell that anything happened!

So after about 45 mins of cleaning, we ate our dinner, and I must say it was worth the wait very good steaks boys! (but Karisti and I picked them out!) It was a eventful night so we finally got around to dying Easter eggs, and luckily Davis and Broc were the only ones the were into it! Needless to say Karisti and I were about arms length away the entire time. JUST IN CASE!

I also have to apologize, my kids are never in clothes, I try to keep them on them. At least I will be able to embarrass them with pictures when they are older!

At least he is so stickin cute!

It was a really crazy night, but it all turned out, and how many people can say that they lived through black paint on their 3 month old carpet! We survived, and Karisti and Jed, you are still welcome at our house, just remember , PAYBACK MIGHT BE RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!!

DIXIE ESCALANTE

Kirby's cousin Jed works at Dixie Escalante as a Lineman, and his boss is retiring. So he asked me to come take a picture of all the Linemen on a old sub-station

Park / Shopping Day!

So Karisti and I attempted to take all 4 boys with us to St. George on Friday. We broke up the shopping with a picnic at the park! The boys had a great time.

Ultimate Peep Show

My mom really likes peeps, and now I know why! Ha Ha just kidding. Maybe this is why Peeps are so popular!

Another day at the farm...

Here are a few pictures of our little outing today. We went down to see the cows again, but ended up playing on the old equipment. In the cemetery of abandoned vehicles, there is a old boom truck, that looks a lot like Mater from Cars. The boys have to go play on it every time we are there. We took some pictures of them on it, and yes the one of him hanging, is where I hooked Davis' pants on the hook. He hung there for a minute, it was pretty funny. Then all the boys wanted to hang on the hook, even my little Ky, I think he thinks he is older than 2. Then we decided to take a quick picture of the boys posed on the old hay squeeze. they are so cute! They are definitely going to cause as much trouble as their dads did when they are older!
(maybe more trouble)

Random

These are just random pictures that I have taken the last little while. The boys practiced their fire escape and I also made them clean out the window wells while they were down there. Then I just looked over and they were watching TV like this with ther legs through the banister. So Cute! This is how they look when we make the long trip up north. Davis looks so relaxed.

Happy Easter Early / TMNT Mania

My kids are obsessed with Ninja Turtles. It is so funny, 1/2 the time you have to have Davis translate what Ky says, but he can say the turtles names perfect! Anyways my mom sent a Easter present in the mail, I figured it was, but I couldn't get Davis to wait until Sunday. Davis was so funny, he kept saying mom this is TOTALLY WICKED. Here are a few pictures of their reactions.

Also I love these little turtles, They are found at Family dollar stores and they are only a dollar a piece. I love them, perfect for gifts, and to take to church. Plus Ky looks so cute packing them around the house! So if you find them buy them because if you can't find anyone to give them to, I'll buy them from you, cause we have lots of little cousins that would love them!! I think that I am obsessed with them too!

Visiting the lonely twin

There was a momma down at the farm that had twins, and she kept the boy. They wanted her to keep the girl, because they end up selling the boys, and bottle feeding a calf isn't as good as a mom. But she wouldn't so we went to visit her the other day the older boys lasted about 5 mins, then they ran off to climb on everything. Brayden had a blast... the video is proof of that!

THE BEST THING EVER!!!

The best thing about having a photo studio in your basement, is that you only have to talk you husband into walking 30 feet. I love my studio. I just wish that my children loved it as much. They are so weird when they get in front of the camera. Davis is at that stage where he trys really hard to smile, and he just looks goofy. But we are working on it! Here are a few of the successful shots....

This one I was telling Ky to tell me about the tractors off of Cars,(how they fart when they tip over) well he is telling my and I am smiling at Kirby so that he can catch when KY starts smiling, and then Ky lets one rip right on my lap, and turns to me and says they sound like that mommy!

This was one of the last pictures we took and I said say "we love taking pictures" I think that they were the best smiles I got the whole time!

The boys and their dad!

It's a lot of fun, and I am so glad that I have my boys to practice on!

The problem with boys that are only 20 months apart....

neither one is old enough to say "hey maybe we shouldn't try to break the new washer and dryer" Instead they are smart enough to know that if they are quiet enough but not too quiet then mom and dad will NEVER CATCH US. I have to give Kirby props though, because he came and got me to take pictures before he told them why they were making our 4 month old house a 20 years old house! (it's the lecture we get on a daily basis) I want everyone to come see if it looks 20 years old!

10 years ago... I was finishing up my sophomore year at good ole' Davis High School! GO DARTS! I had just finished back to back seasons of soccer then basketball. So much fun, but I couldn't handle another, so I didn't attempt softball. (always wish that I would have) I think actually I know that I didn't have my cool 1982 Toyota corolla wagon yet. So I was trading off driving our full size maroon dodge van (I think that i needed a CDL license) or a Pontiac Bonneville! But it didn't matter, I thought I was cool, just because I had my license.

5 things on my to-do list..1. ORGANIZE my house 2. Do laundry 3. Finish painting my master bathroom 4. Scrapbook 5.Detail the car.

Snacks I enjoy... I really like Hershey's chocolate, that is the best brand. I really like carbs. A snack for me is a huge Diet Dr. Pepper, I know it is sad, but I really love it!

If I were suddenly a billionaire.... I would pay off my house and my car. Then I would sell the van and buy a Toyota Sequoia. After that I would landscape the crap out of my yard. By a plane so Kirby could fly my to Kaysville whenever I wanted. (I would pay for flying lessons of course.) Invest some and help my family that needed money.

3 bad habits I have 1. I drink too much caffeine. 2. I play Solitaire at night until I win (lets just say i stay up later than I need too. 3. I really like to watch my shows after they have been recorded, so I can fast forward through commercials.

5 things I love about my family... 1. How cute my kids are. 2. The way my husband's imagination is as big as my boys. 3. How much fun we have together. 4. How we are always on the go (my mom, sister, and I) 5. The opportunities I have. (had).

3 things that make me gag!!.
1 Nose Pickers, it just makes my stomach roll typing it. (I have 2 in my family) 2. Crest whitening toothpaste (it made me throw up too many times when I was pregnant) 3. Dirty diapers, that are produced by children that are way too old.

5 things people don't know about me.....
1. I am a Little People Big World junkie. 2. I like doing yard work. ( as long as someone isn't telling me to do it) 3. I hate going on scenic vacations, I like action. 4. I don't take any pictures unless there is a living thing in them, otherwise they are boring. 5. I HATE spending money, I just do it to make Kirby mad! ha ha!!

I don't care if people respond, it's fun, but don't feel pressured. So if you want, I tag everyone on my blog lists.

Bountiful

I think that the St. George Temple turned out way better, I guess that it is a lot easier to make a temple look old that is older than 10 years. any way. If I can get my pictures off of my old computer, then I will be able to find my pics of the Salt Lake temple. I made these because Karisti gave me the good idea! Thanks!!

We might offer them for enrichment (the St. George one) so we'll keep yopu posted.

My latest creation

This is my version of the temple pictures that are available at Deseret Book. Kirby asked me if I was using my own picture, and yes I am, I just stole their idea!!! I think that it looks pretty good!
